Attractions in Miedzyzdroje – What's Worth Seeing During Your Vacation?
Miedzyzdroje—the pier and the Walk of Fame? Those are accurate associations, but definitely incomplete. Just a few minutes’ walk from the city center, the high cliffs begin, and from numerous lookout points, you can discover a side of the Baltic Sea that’s completely different from what we’re used to seeing from the beach. Read on to discover the most interesting spots in this seaside town. Some are familiar to almost everyone, while others are easy to overlook (though they can surprise you more than the resort’s most recognizable symbols). Check out the list of the most popular tourist attractions in Miedzyzdroje—make a note of them all and, in just a few minutes, plan your itinerary for even a week-long vacation.
Miedzyzdroje – The Beach, Cliffs, and The Most Beautiful Views On Wolin Island
Miedzyzdroje is located on the island of Wolin, between the waters of the Baltic Sea and the Szczecin Lagoon. The town lies within the boundaries of the Wolin National Park. This is easy to see. The town’s built-up area quickly gives way to beech forests, moraine hills, and steep cliffs. In few coastal towns does the transition from the promenade to a forest trail take literally just a moment.
The cliffs are one of the most distinctive features of the landscape that we can admire in Miedzyzdroje. In some places, they reach nearly 90 meters in height and are among the highest on the Polish coast. Their slopes are constantly changing shape under the influence of waves and wind.
Miedzyzdroje’s location makes it easy to explore the western part of Wolin Island. Trails leading through Wolin National Park are located within the city limits, and more lookout points and nature reserves await just a short distance away. Alongside the well-known attractions, it’s easy to discover places that remain off the beaten path of tourist guides.
The town’s character is defined by a striking contrast between the open expanse of the beach and the forested hills. Within a few kilometers, you can see sand dunes, high cliffs, lakes, and beech forests. Few places on the Baltic coast combine such diverse landscapes within a relatively small area.
That’s why the resort is often associated not only with a seaside vacation but also with exploring nature. What should you see in Miedzyzdroje to experience both of these aspects?

What's Worth Seeing in Miedzyzdroje? Attractions and Interesting Places in Miedzyzdroje
What to do in Miedzyzdroje? The pier, viewpoints, museums, the park—or perhaps a place where you can come face-to-face with figures from film, music, and history? The list of attractions is much longer than it might seem after your first stroll along the promenade.
Where to start your tour? Here are the most interesting places.
The Pier in Miedzyzdroje
The pier is one of the most recognizable attractions in Miedzyzdroje. The area around it is considered the resort’s “town square.” The current structure is 395 meters long—it’s one of the longest concrete piers on the Baltic Sea. Cruise ships dock here, and from the end of the pier, you can clearly see the coastline and the cliffs of Wolin National Park.
Walk of Fame
Handprints of famous actors, directors, musicians, and cultural figures serve as a reminder of the Festival of Stars held in Miedzyzdroje. The Walk of Fame was created in the 1990s. Among the plaques, you can find the names of several generations of Polish artists.
Viewpoints – Kawcza Góra and Gosań
Discover interesting outdoor spots in Miedzyzdroje. The summit of Kawcza Góra rises about 61 meters above sea level, while Gosań—the highest cliff on the Polish coast—reaches nearly 95 meters. Both vantage points offer sweeping panoramic views of the sea and the island of Wolin. The trails are not demanding—these walks can be part of an itinerary that fits perfectly with the desire for active relaxation in nature.
Wax Museum
The Wax Museum is one of those attractions for adults in Miedzyzdroje that will also delight young visitors. Dozens of life-size figures depict famous actors, athletes, politicians, movie heroes, and fairy-tale characters. The figures were crafted with great attention to detail—even the smallest nuances were captured, from facial expressions to clothing details. The exhibition is regularly expanded to include new figures from culture and the world of entertainment.
Spa Park
Spa Park was established in the early 20th century according to a design by German landscape architect Joseph Lenné. Stately plane trees, beeches, oaks, and numerous tree species imported from other parts of the world line its paths. This green space seamlessly connects the center of Miedzyzdroje with the seaside promenade.
Wolin National Park Natural History Museum
The Wolin National Park Natural History Museum consists of several exhibition halls, each of which presents a slightly different perspective on the world of Wolin Island—on a scale not visible during an ordinary walk.
Scale models, animal specimens, cliff models, and geological exhibits explain how the local landscape was formed and what plant and animal species can be found within the national park. It’s a very interesting attraction for children in Miedzyzdroje, offering not only entertainment but also a small dose of knowledge (presented in a very accessible way).
The Viewing Pier on Kawcza Góra
A small terrace jutting out over the cliff gives the impression that the land ends right here. The structure is located right next to the red trail leading through the Wolin National Park. It’s one of those places that illustrates the difference in elevation between the beach and the cliff’s edge far better than any numbers ever could.
Sports Stars Avenue
Sports Stars Avenue (less well-known than the Promenade of Stars) commemorates the achievements of Polish athletes. Plaques dedicated to Olympic medalists and outstanding athletes showcase another side of the city’s history and highlight sporting events held in Miedzyzdroje.

The Best Attractions for Kids in Miedzyzdroje
On every family vacation at the Polish seaside, there comes a moment when the kids have had enough of the beach. Although it’s sometimes hard to imagine at the start of the vacation, boredom sets in more easily after a few days. Is there a solution? Don’t let it catch you off guard—have a list of kid-friendly activities in Miedzyzdroje ready to help you spend time together.
European Bison Show Enclosure
A herd of European bison, part of a species conservation program, lives within the Wolin National Park. You can observe the animals from wooden walkways and viewing platforms. In addition to bison, the enclosure is also home to deer, wild boars, white-tailed eagles, and other species native to the region.
Planetarium
In Miedzyzdroje, you can take your eyes off the Baltic Sea for a moment and let your gaze wander much further. The shows projected onto the Planetarium’s dome depict planets, constellations, galaxies, and phenomena occurring in space. The projections are accompanied by audio recordings—children (and adults, too) can listen to stories about astronomy and space exploration. It’s an opportunity to explore the night sky regardless of the time of day.
Oceanarium
Visit the Oceanarium in Miedzyzdroje and discover the secrets of the underwater world together. Behind the aquarium glass, you’ll see fish in colors you’d be hard-pressed to find in the Baltic Sea. The facility features species from various habitats—from those living on coral reefs to those swimming in tropical rivers. Pay attention to the details—the most interesting aspects are the shapes of the fins, the camouflage, the way they move, and the differences between the inhabitants of the various tanks.
Baltic Miniature Park
The Baltic Miniature Park presents a scaled-down version of the Baltic Sea coast. Among the 1:25-scale models are lighthouses, castles, ports, and landmarks from countries bordering the sea. Take a stroll and examine the details; compare the shapes of the towers, roofs, and gates—the exhibition lets you see how the architecture of different regions varies.
Parrot House
At the Parrot House, you’ll see exotic birds up close (really up close). Macaws, cockatoos, and Amazon parrots move about the enclosed space, sometimes perching next to visitors and quickly capturing attention with their colors, sounds, and behavior. This is one of those attractions for kids in Miedzyzdroje that truly leaves a lasting impression on little ones. No museum tour, exhibition, or story will stay in a child’s memory as long as an encounter with these exotic birds.
Bluszcz Rope Park
The rope park is a typical summer attraction. A bit of activity among the treetops will be a lot of fun for those who enjoy physical activity and thrills.
You navigate the courses several meters above the ground, tackling bridges, nets, walkways, and rope slides along the way. The course requires focus, balance, and courage. But don’t worry—even the youngest kids can handle it. Of course, the courses are completed with proper safety measures, and instructors are on hand to supervise everything.
Water Park at the Bel Mare and Aqua Resort Complex
When on vacation with kids, it’s always good to have an “ace up your sleeve” in the form of an indoor attraction for bad weather. What immediately comes to mind? A water park. The facility at Bel Mare and Aqua Resort is also open to non-residents. Several water slides, a wild river ride, recreational pools, a hot tub, and a kids’ area full of other water attractions make up one of the largest complexes in Miedzyzdroje. In addition to the pool area, there’s also a sauna and spa zone. This is also one of those places worth keeping in mind if you’re planning a trip to the resort outside of the summer season and are looking for winter activities. You can enjoy a vacation in Miedzyzdroje not only during the summer season.

Attractions in Miedzyzdroje and the Surrounding Area
Miedzyzdroje is just the beginning of your exploration of Wolin Island. Within a radius of a dozen or so kilometers, you’ll find sites linked to history and nature, as well as modern attractions for families. Most of them are close enough that you can easily combine a visit to them with a tour of the resort itself.
Turquoise Lake in Wapnica
Turquoise Lake owes its name to the extraordinary color of its water, which is a remnant of a former chalk quarry. The color changes depending on the light and the calcium content. The lake is located within the Wolin National Park and is surrounded by forested hills and hiking trails leading to scenic viewpoints.
Viewing Terraces – Grodzisko in Lubin
Lubin is one of the highest-elevation towns on the coast. The viewing terraces offer a panoramic view of the Szczecin Lagoon, the Świna Delta, and the southern part of Wolin Island. Right next to them are the remains of an early medieval stronghold, whose history dates back to the turn of the 11th and 12th centuries.
The Underground City on Wolin Island
For many years, the Underground City on Wolin Island remained inaccessible and shrouded in mystery. Today, visitors can take a guided tour of this former military complex, exploring the bunkers, tunnels, and command posts built starting in the 1930s. Exhibits shed light on the history of the fortifications and their role during World War II.
The Slavs and Vikings Center in Wolin
This reconstruction of an early medieval settlement was created based on actual data from archaeological research. Wooden huts, craft workshops, the waterfront, and fortifications show what life was like for the inhabitants of Wolin nearly a thousand years ago. During the summer season, demonstrations of traditional crafts and historical reenactments take place here.
The Lighthouse in Swinoujscie
The lighthouse in Swinoujscie is the tallest structure of its kind on the Baltic Sea. It stands 68 meters tall and remains one of the symbols of the western coast. Over 300 steps lead up to the observation deck, and the reward for the climb is a sweeping panorama of Swinoujscie, the harbor, and the Świna River estuary. The building also houses a small exhibition dedicated to the history of lighthouses.
